# Compare supplier quotes against the approved spec.

Every quote checked against the approved revision before anyone reads the price, with the real cost per unit beside it.

Quotes · Canvas field jacket Week 4

Quote

Built to

Real cost

Q06 · $31.20 a unit

Revision D

12 oz, wash tested

$31.60

Q07 · $28.40 a unit

Revision C

10 oz, never washed

$35.10

Real cost adds the wash test and rework, and the returns a quote is expected to cause

The two quotes side by side, with the revision each cites and what the jacket would really cost.

## Sound familiar?

- The cheap quote was for the old version.
- Quotes arrive as PDFs and emails, and nobody lines them up against the spec.
- A lower price turns into a test, a rework and a return nobody budgeted for.

The quote that looks cheapest is often the one for a different product. You find out after the order.

## What changes.

## How you’ll know it’s working.

1. Wrong-revision incidents

Quotes, samples or tests that cited a version you hadn’t approved.

2. Re-quotes per style

Each one is a week and a conversation that a check could have saved.

3. Days from quote to decision

How long a supplier waits on you, and your calendar waits on them.

We configure first

PLM vendors now summarize and compare documents inside the PLM. We test that on your edition, with your messiest quotes, before building anything.

We build when

Quotes arrive by email and PDF in many formats, and nothing ties them to the revision you approved.

## What a first build includes.

Built in your accounts, around your team. Scope, fee and baseline agreed before we start.

1. 1 Design
2. 2 Build
3. 3 Run it, or hand it over

### We build

- A quote intake that attaches each quote to its product and revision
- Field-by-field checks against the approved spec
- A real-cost view per unit, from your own test and returns history
- Re-quote requests drafted for sourcing to send

### We start from

- Supplier quotes and emails
- Test costs and return rates by material

## Questions teams ask.

Can it read any quote?

It reads PDFs, spreadsheets and email text, and says when it isn’t sure. A quote that doesn’t name its revision is held as unresolved, never guessed.

Doesn’t our PLM do this now?

Some PLMs summarize and compare documents, and we’d use that first. We check what yours does on your edition. What it may not do is tie each quote to the revision you approved, add the cost of what’s missing and ask the factory for the right one.

Who owns it once it’s running?

You do. It’s built in your accounts, documented, with training for the people who run it. Ownership usually sits with your head of sourcing. We can keep running it with you, or step back.

How do we start?

Usually with a development review: two to four weeks, a fixed fee credited to the build, and a plan that’s yours. If the job is already clear, we can scope the build directly.
